Preparing Your Manuscript

Thank you for choosing the Contemporary Innovations Journal (CIJ). This guide provides everything authors need to prepare high-quality submissions for both our peer-reviewed journals and CIJ Open Books. Before submitting, authors are strongly encouraged to review:

Manuscripts that fall outside the aims and scope of the selected publication or fail to comply with these guidelines may be declined before peer review.

Responsibilities of the Corresponding Author

  • Obtain approval from every co-author.
  • Manage communication between CIJ and all contributors.
  • Ensure originality of submitted work.
  • Provide ORCID ID.
  • Upload required declarations and disclosures.
  • Coordinate revisions.
  • Ensure ethical compliance.

Submission Workflow

Prepare your manuscript, cover letter, figures, supplementary files, ethics documents and author declarations.

Upload all files through the CIJ Journal Management System or Open Book Submission Platform.

The editorial office evaluates compliance, plagiarism screening, AI screening, formatting and scope.

Double-blind peer review conducted by subject experts.

Authors submit revised manuscripts before final acceptance.

References & Citations

CIJ supports APA 7th Edition, Vancouver, Harvard and Chicago referencing depending on the journal. All references should include DOI where available. Reference management software such as EndNote, Zotero and Mendeley is fully supported.

Figures, Tables & Supplementary Files

  • JPEG/TIFF (500–1200 dpi)
  • Editable tables only
  • Number figures sequentially
  • Provide legends separately
  • Use SI Units

Authors must comply with CIJ Editorial Policies regarding:

Withdrawal, Appeals & Transfers

Authors may request manuscript withdrawal within seven (7) days of submission where editorial processing has not substantially progressed. Rejected manuscripts may be appealed, while suitable manuscripts may be transferred to another CIJ journal without resubmission or additional processing fees.
