The Contemporary Innovations Journal (CIJ) employs a rigorous, transparent, and internationally recognised peer-review process to ensure that every journal article and Open Book published meets the highest standards of academic excellence. Peer review is the foundation of scholarly publishing. It provides independent expert evaluation of submitted work to assess its originality, scientific validity, methodological quality, ethical compliance, significance, and contribution to knowledge. Our editorial process is designed to provide constructive feedback that helps authors improve their work while ensuring that published research is accurate, reliable, and of lasting scholarly value.

Our Peer Review Model

Double-Blind Peer Review

CIJ operates a double-blind peer-review system for all journal submissions. Under this model:

  • Authors do not know the identity of the reviewers.
  • Reviewers do not know the identity of the authors.
  • Editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit.
  • Conflicts of interest are minimized.
  • Bias relating to institution, nationality, gender, or seniority is reduced.

Open Books Review

Research monographs, edited volumes, textbooks, conference proceedings, and other Open Book submissions undergo editorial assessment followed by independent expert review appropriate to the publication type. Multi-author books may receive chapter-level reviews together with an overall editorial evaluation.

Peer Review Workflow

Editorial Screening

Scope, formatting, plagiarism screening, AI-assisted writing checks, ethical compliance, and completeness are verified.

Reviewer Assignment

Independent experts with appropriate disciplinary expertise are invited to evaluate the submission.

Editorial Decisions

Accept
The manuscript is accepted for publication with only minor editorial formatting.
Minor Revision
Small revisions are required before acceptance.
Major Revision
Substantial improvements are requested. The revised manuscript may undergo another round of peer review.
Reject with Transfer Recommendation
The manuscript may be more suitable for another CIJ journal. Authors may transfer without restarting the submission process.
Reject
The manuscript does not satisfy CIJ's scientific, ethical, or editorial standards.
