Submission & Peer Review

CIJ accepts original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, methodological papers, critical commentaries, and case studies. We do not publish opinion pieces, promotional content, or non-peer-reviewed material of any kind.

Our target peer-review turnaround is 4 to 6 weeks from submission to first editorial decision. Complex manuscripts or those requiring specialist reviewers may require additional time. Authors are kept informed throughout the review process.

Yes. All CIJ submissions undergo double-blind peer review, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are withheld from each other throughout the review process.

Open Access & Fees

Yes. CIJ is fully committed to immediate open access. All articles and books are freely available to any reader globally upon publication, with no embargo periods, subscription requirements, or paywalls of any kind.

CIJ applies Article Processing Charges to cover the cost of peer review management, editorial processing, professional copyediting, digital typesetting, and permanent archiving. Our APC schedule is published transparently on the submission portal. CIJ offers different types of discounts on APCs, which are listed below. The discounts are exclusive of each other and they cannot be accumulated.
  • Discount with respect to amount of articles you want to publish in an Issue as a corresponding author. A 10% discount applies to publication fee for ≥3 articles.
  • As an Editorial Board Member, you have 20% off on publication fee for not more than two (2) articles published in an Issue, as long as you are the corresponding author.

Yes. Authors publishing in CIJ retain full copyright of their work. CIJ publications are released under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY NC SA 4.0.) licence, which permits free use, sharing, and adaptation with appropriate attribution to the original authors.
