Article Processing Charges (APCs)

Contemporary Innovations Journal (CIJ) is a fully Open Access academic publishing platform. Every article, book chapter and scholarly publication is made freely available online immediately after publication, allowing unrestricted access for researchers, educators, policymakers and the global academic community.

To sustain this publishing model, CIJ applies Article Processing Charges (APCs) which cover the costs of managing submissions, coordinating double-blind peer review, professional copyediting, production, DOI registration, digital preservation, indexing support, plagiarism screening, AI-assisted writing detection, citation verification, long-term hosting and author support.

For journal submissions, APCs are divided into two stages:

Processing Fee – payable upon manuscript submission.
Publication Fee – payable only after editorial acceptance.

Open Book publications follow a single combined publication fee structure covering editorial assessment, peer review and production.

Who is responsible for payment?

The Corresponding Author is responsible for arranging payment unless alternative arrangements have been agreed by all co-authors or sponsoring institution.

When do I pay?

Processing Fee — immediately after manuscript submission.
Publication Fee — only after editorial acceptance.
Open Book Fee — according to the editorial publishing schedule.

Withdrawal Policy

Authors may withdraw a manuscript without charge within 7 days of initial submission, provided editorial processing has not substantially commenced.

Refund Policy

Publication fees may be refunded if CIJ fails to publish an editorially accepted manuscript due to an error attributable to the publisher. Refunds are not issued for retractions resulting from author misconduct or ethical violations.

Discounts

10% Publication Fee discount for three or more accepted articles submitted by the same Corresponding Author within one issue.
20% Publication Fee discount for Editorial Board Members (maximum of two articles per issue).
Only one discount scheme may apply to a manuscript.
