Contemporary Innovation Journal (CIJ) is inviting applications for the position of Editor-in-Chief for CIJ Sports Science and Human Performance, a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing research in the field of Sports Science and Human Performance. As Editor-in-Chief, you will provide strategic and academic leadership for the journal โ€” setting editorial direction, safeguarding publication standards, and building the journal's reputation within the Sports Science and Human Performance research community. This is a voluntary, remote leadership position with a flexible time commitment. Key Responsibilities: - Provide overall editorial leadership and strategic direction for the journal - Make final decisions on manuscript acceptance, rejection, and revision - Recruit, guide, and coordinate the Editorial Board and peer reviewers - Uphold and enforce the journal's standards for scientific quality and publication ethics - Represent the journal at conferences, in partnerships, and within the wider research community - Oversee special issues, thematic calls for papers, and editorial policy development - Mentor and support Editorial Board Members and reviewers

Requirements

- PhD (or equivalent research experience) in Sports Science and Human Performance or a closely related discipline - A strong record of peer-reviewed publications and demonstrated leadership in the field - Prior editorial experience (as Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editor, or Senior Editorial Board Member) strongly preferred - Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills - Ability to commit several hours per week to editorial oversight - Established standing and professional network within the Sports Science and Human Performance research community
